About Us
On September 19, 1999, a prayer meeting began which continues to this day. From dawn to dusk and through the watches of the night, prayer and worship continues twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The prayer room is the heartbeat--the essence and the the origin--of all that goes on at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City (IHOP-KC). As we seek the face of the Lord continually, our desire is both to grow in intimacy with Jesus and to see the Lord move across the Earth through intercessory prayer.
While live worship has burned at IHOP–KC continually, the prayer room has become a spiritual greenhouse for musical creativity. Forerunner Music was birthed out of our desire to share the melodies created here with the Body of Christ. The artists represented by the Forerunner Music label are worship leaders and songwriters at IHOP–KC who express the message of abandonment to Jesus and love for Him through song, as King David did.
Generally speaking, each Forerunner Music artist is on staff at IHOP–KC as a worship leader, spending at least 40 hours in the Prayer Room per week. Each is committed to living a life focused on the "one thing" David described in Psalm 27, to dwell in the house of the Lord and to behold His beauty.
We believe many in the Church are hungry for devoted worship that carries the message of divine intimacy, with regard for the urgency of this hour in history. Our prayer is that the music coming out of IHOP–KC will bless, encourage and stir you to greater love for God.

The revenue generated from each CD and mp3 sale goes to support both the worship leaders and the house of prayer. Forerunner Music is a non-profit organization dedicated to continually building the house of prayer both here in Kansas City and across the earth.
In addition, the worship leaders of IHOP–KC are committed to living simple lifestyles and also support the vision of raising up houses of prayer everywhere. Forerunner Music does not own any of the publishing rights from our songwriters and therefore the income they acquire from sales blesses them.
